State police investigate thefts, burglaries

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a number of attempted burglary and theft incidents.

• A break-in occurred at a residence in the 2000 block of Route 209 in Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said someone attempted to use a black rubber handled mallet to break a large front glass door on the Beer Nuts store, but did not get in. The store alarm and multiple surveillance cameras were in operation at the time.

• An 80-year-old Jackson Township man reported that someone stole a Bobcat walk behind a skid steer with a bucket attachment from a location along Sparrow Lane in Jackson Township. The incident occurred sometime between Aug. 1 and Sept. 1. Total loss was estimated at $10,000.

• A 61-year-old man from Long Woods Drive in Saylorsburg, Chestnuthill Township, reported the tailgate on his truck was stolen. He said he noticed it missing on Sept. 10 between 9 and 9:30 a.m.

• A 30-year-old woman from Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported someone used her bank account information to withdraw $400 from her account. The incident occurred on Aug. 30.
