September 21, 1940 — Lansford uses a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to rally for a 13-6 victory over Frackville. Trailing midway through the final frame, a blocked punt by Frank DeMichele sets up the Panthers inside the 5-yard line. Frankie Pavlik eventually powers over the goal line from two yards out, and the successful extra point gives Lansford its first lead. The winners, coached by Ken Millen, add an insurance score late in the contest on Joe “Fozie” Kennedy’s 11-yard TD run. The tally is set up by a Kennedy interception.
