September 15, 1989 — Tod Young scores two touchdowns and Northwestern’s defense pitches a shutout in a 21-0 Centennial League victory over rival Northern Lehigh. Young carries on eight of 11 plays during a late second-quarter drive that ends with his 8-yard scoring run. Young, who finishes with 87 yards rushing, adds a 1-yard TD plunge in the fourth frame. In between the Young scores, Tony Fristick tosses a 45-yard scoring strike to Jason Minnich. The Tigers, coached by Bob Mitchell, hold their opponent to just 58 yards of offense and register three sacks.
