September 5, 2003 — Jason Figura carries 16 times for 136 yards and three touchdowns and also scores on a punt return to help Jim Thorpe roll to a 34-0 Anthracite 8 victory over Mahanoy Area. Figura opens the scoring with a 17-yard tally in the first quarter. He adds a 35-yard return of a short punt in the second frame, and reaches the end zone on runs of 20 and 10 in the second half. Justin Young also gets on the scoreboard, catching a 12-yard TD pass from Dan Flizack. Young and Shawn Bradley each add two sacks on defense.
