Hot weather returns this week

Heat indices to around 100 degrees are forecast for much of the area during the afternoon hours of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and possibly again on Thursday. The highest heat indices look to occur during Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. A heat advisory could be issued for Tuesday and Wednesday especially with later forecasts.

Tonight: Patchy fog after 3am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Calm wind.

Labor Day: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 89. Light southwest wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. Light and variable wind.

Tuesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Light north wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. Calm wind.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 70.

Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
