Thanks for help with summer food program

Frank Tongue of the Lansford Townhouses, Ruthann Christopher and Deb Ranck wish to thank all who provided food and monetary support for our summer food service program. This summer we served 1,650 lunches for kids at the Townhouses in Lansford and the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church in Summit Hill. Frank and his crew of volunteers cooked and served the lion’s share of the lunches. Sharing the duties in Summit Hill were the members and volunteers of Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church who cooked and served for three weeks and the members and volunteers of the Heritage Center who cooked and served for three weeks.

Without our very generous business, churches and private donors this program could not have taken place. Again we thank our donors and volunteers for a job well done. Over the next year we will be having an event or two to raise money for next summer’s food service. We also hope to see an additional group in Lansford and Summit Hill to share in the duties for next summer. Please feel free to call any of the following contacts for information on additional sites/volunteering or donating for this worth cause: Pastor Ruthann Christopher, 610-216-0472; Debra Ranck, 484-425-0255; Frank Tongue 570-805-4037.

A big thanks also to Channel 13, our local TV station, for spearheading this cause. Without the assistance of their news crews the summer food would not have happened.

Frank Tongue, Ruthann Christopher and Deb Ranck
