A Lansford man was arrested Friday morning as part of a drug raid by agents from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.

Lewis A. Gregg, 51, of 300 block of Patterson Street, faces charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substances aggravated assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity and prohibited offensive weapon.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, agents with Office of Attorney General Special Operations Group encountered Gregg inside his residence, at which point Gregg had a shotgun pointed at one of the agents.

After several commands, Gregg retreated to the back room and placed the shotgun, which was later determined to be loaded, on the ground.

Gregg was taken into custody.

During a search of the residence, police seized eight firearms, including a sawed-off shotgun; a black digital scale with residue; glass smoking pipes; packaging material; and $1,250. The cash included prerecorded buy money, according to the agents. The sawed-off shotgun had a 16-inch barrel and a clearly cut barrel at the end.

Also seized were various prescription medications including fentanyl, oxycodone and morphine.

Gregg told agents he had been selling prescription medication, specifically Percocets, for the past two months and has between 5-10 customers.

He also said he sells each pill for $15 to $20.

A helicopter from the Pennsylvania National Guard was seen circling around the borough around 6 a.m. as part of the investigation.

The 300 block of Patterson Street (Route 209) was closed for about an hour before reopening around 7 a.m.

Gregg was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr. and bail was set at $250,000 cash.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Casimir Kosciolek.
