Coroner to conduct autopsy on 4-month-old Tamaqua child

Schuylkill County Coroner Dr. David J. Moylan III has released information concerning his office’s investigation into the death of a 4- month-old Tamaqua infant, Jaxon Hutta.

According to the coroner’s office, Tamaqua Police and EMS were called to a borough home at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday for an infant in cardiac arrest. Ambulance personnel transported the unresponsive child to St. Luke’s Miners Campus in Coaldale, where staff were unable to revive him. Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner Joseph Pothering pronounced the child dead at 4:22 a.m.

The coroner’s office conducted a CT scan but will not be able to determine the cause of death until a full autopsy is done, sometime within the next 48 hours.

When contacted about the case, Tamaqua Chief of Police Henry Woods said, “The Tamaqua Police Department does not comment on ongoing investigations”.
