Fugitive Christy reportedly seen in Schuylkill County

State and federal law enforcement looking for fugitive Shawn Christy were again in Schuylkill County early this morning after the man reportedly broke into a home in Rush Township late last night.

According to a post on the Rush Township Board of Supervisors Facebook page, officials urge residents to keep their doors locked and to stay vigilant.

The supervisors said Christy broke into a home along Ben Titus Road late Thursday night.

Roadblocks were put into place around the area while investigators searched for the 27-year-old.

Ben Titus Road is approximately 5 miles away from McAdoo, Christy’s hometown.

Christy is wanted by the FBI for making threats against President Donald Trump and Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli.

Christy and his father were accused in 2011 and later pleaded guilty to making harassing phone calls to the attorney for former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. In 2010, a judge granted Palin a six-month protection from abuse order against Christy. Palin alleged that Christy was stalking her and a friend by phone and email.

Christy was later sentenced to two years in prison after he violated terms of his parole.

Last year, Christy was accused of swinging a stick at the mayor of McAdoo following an argument over snow removal.

Earlier this week, police found a vehicle that Christy had allegedly stolen in Maryland in the parking lot of Walmart in Hometown.

He has allegedly stolen at least five cars during a manhunt that began in June, and has been reportedly seen as far south as Kentucky.

When he was last seen, Christy had a beard and was wearing a tan shirt and blue jeans. Authorities have said Christy is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about Christy’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the U.S. Marshals at 877-Wanted-2. Federal authorities have announced a $20,000 reward for information leading Christy’s arrest.
