West Broad Street in Tamaqua is still closed at the Wabash Creek Bridge construction site but an out-of-state truck became the first to drive over the new macadam early Monday. It happened shortly after 8 a.m. when a tractor-trailer with Florida plates became stuck at Hunter and West Broad streets after missing multiple detour signs. The truck had to reverse direction and then use a police escort to drive through the construction site to connect with Route 309 south. The driver was cited. DONALD R.
