Cause of man’s death to be determined by autopsy

The cause of death for a Montgomery County man whose body was discovered Tuesday night in Penn Forest Township remains unknown.

State police at Fern Ridge said that at around 8:40 p.m. last Wednesday, they responded to Route 534 at Towamensing Trails Road in Albrightsville for a report of a possible domestic dispute.

Upon further investigation, Jeremy Cosmi, 25, of Souderton, was reported missing by his girlfriend after he fled into the woods.

Cosmi was discovered dead at around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 1788 Route 534 in Albrightsville.

Cosmi was transported from the scene by the Carbon County Coroner to the Lehigh Valley Medical Center, where an autopsy was performed on Wednesday.

The cause of the death is still pending the results of the autopsy.

Cosmi was last seen at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 in the area of Towamensing Trails Road and Route 534 in Albrightsville.

Officials previously said he was possibly suffering from a head injury and in need of medical attention.

On Sunday more than 100 volunteers searched for Cosmi in Penn Forest Township.
