A Carbon County man has been arrested in Monroe County.

State police at Stroudsburg said at 9:52 a.m. Aug. 1 troopers responded to the 700 block of Lower Cherry Valley Road in Hamilton Township, for a report of a squatter trespassing at a vacant residence. The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of troopers.

Through an investigation the suspect was identified as Ryan Shupp, 37, of Jim Thorpe. Shupp was wanted by state police for an incident that occurred on July 31. Shupp was later apprehended and taken into custody. He was arraigned before a district justice on a felony charge of criminal trespass of a building. Records indicate he is a inmate in the county prison in Snydersville.
