Several area residents went to the Trump-Barletta rally Thursday night. Some comments:

Larry Zawaly of Palmerton:

I think this was the most awesome thing I was ever at. I followed Lou Barletta’s career for many years and always liked his policies. I never saw so many fired up people as this, including the hecklers among the massive crowd outside.

He compared the traffic to getting out of the parking lot after a Pocono race.

“I would go to one of these again,” he said. “Trump was fantastic.”

Lisa Johnson of West Penn Township:

“It was one of the most exciting events I’ve ever attended. Everyone was respectful to each other, had thoughtful conversations, and truly thrilled to be able to see the president.”

“No garbage anywhere, people were helping people, they were polite to each other. And with the amount of people there, you would think there might be tension. But there wasn’t at all.”

She said she didn’t experience many traffic issues. She added she saw quite a number of people from the area there, and met people from Philadelphia, Moscow, Doylestown, Exeter, New Jersey and New York.

Michelle Broadt of Lehighton:

“I was very fortunate to be a part of the packed rally tonight ... It was so nice to see how many young people were there. It’s scary to think about our future generation. I went with friends who were Democrats who voted for Trump for the first time and they love him as president.”
