Monroe woman facing charges for false repo

A Monroe County woman is facing charges stemming from false reports phoned into the county communications center.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on July 25 at 3:03 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Pembrook Drive in Tobyhanna for a reported stabbing. On scene officers found the incident to be false. Upon investigation it was learned that the same caller reported a physical altercation at the same address earlier in the day and a similar stabbing incident the night before at an address along Westwood Drive in Tobyhanna.

Officers were able to determine and locate the caller, identified as Almarie Lewis, 44, of the 9000 block of Westwood Drive. Lewis was found with her phone showing the 911 calls in her call log.

She was taken into custody and charged with three counts each of false alarms to agencies of public safety, false reports to law enforcement and disorderly conduct.
