Nesquehoning police investigating church vandalism

Nesquehoning police are asking for the public’s help in finding who is responsible for a series of incidents around St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church.

Borough police Chief Sean Smith said that the church, located on West Railroad Street, has been the victim of multiple acts of vandalism over the last month, including intimidating signs about Christians being posted on utility poles across the street, items being ripped off of church property and drug paraphernalia being found at the church entrance.

Smith said that police are investigating the incidents and asked that anyone with information or who sees suspicious activity around the church to call borough police immediately at 570-669-9111.
