The Make-A-Wish Foundation is looking for volunteers from different counties including Carbon, Schuylkill, Lehigh and Northampton counties.

The foundation strives to uphold its mission of serving a unique role in helping strengthen and empower children battling critical illnesses.

Volunteers will be grouped together into a “wish team” and assigned to a local child in need.

A meeting will be arranged between the team and the child’s family to discuss the specifics of making their dreams come true.

Make-A-Wish is always accepting applications and on-boarding prospective volunteers in preparation for its next training session scheduled for the fall.

According to Make-A-Wish, a wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their critical illnesses.

Since its beginning in 1980, nearly 285,000 children have been positively impacted as of 2017, with one wish being granted every 34 minutes throughout the United States.
