State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating a burglary that occurred between 10 a.m. May 28 and 2 a.m. Wednesday at a residence along Russell Court in Effort, Chestnuthill Township.

The victim is a 55-year-old man from Oceanside, New York.

The victim told police his niece arrived at the vacation residence and found the door had been tampered with and was ajar. She said the only thing that appeared to have been taken was a security camera that was in the residence.

Police said the door jam was damaged and it appeared someone used a pry bar to gain access to the residence.
