A Carbon County motorcyclist was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 3:57 p.m. on Saturday on the on-ramp to Interstate 81 in Kline Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said John W. Bachert, 45, of Lansford, was operating a 2006 Harley-Davidson Dyna and just merged onto I-81 northbound from the McAdoo exit and entered behind a truck with trailer combination, which was traveling in the right lane.

The overflow wind current of the truck-tractor caused Bachert, who troopers said was still inexperienced, to lose control.

The motorcycle drifted into the left lane and made contact with a 2016 Dodge Caravan driven by Thomas Campbell, 75, of Monticello, New York.

Bachert sustained serious injuries, troopers said, and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton Campus, by McAdoo ambulance. Campbell was not injured.

Troopers said Bachert was cited for not having the proper license.
