The Tamaqua Area Community Art Center, 125 Pine St., Tamaqua, will host a tribute evening to the late Nic East, well-known local artist. The tribute is being planned by the artist’s daughter, Kim East,

“As a professional multimedia artist and self-proclaimed master of over 80 artistic disciplines (he strove to learn one for each year of his life), my father, Nic East, in his 82 years on this earth, has mentored and inspired literally thousands to go on to create their own beautiful works of art — or express themselves via the written word,” said East.

“What better way to pay tribute to the life of such a talented artist and writer than by using this inspiration to do a portrait tribute gallery show? Each likeness of the late, great, Nic East is done by a different artist, using one or more mediums which they, themselves, have striven to master using their own styles and methods.”

The show and artist meet and greet will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 2.
