FT Maroon, Weatherly post wins

Franklin Township Maroon and Weatherly gained wins during the Panther Valley Little League tournament on Tuesday.

In other action, Berlinsville dropped a Blue Mountain League game to the Northern Yankees.

No. Yankees-Berlinsville

A run in the top of the eighth inning lifted the Northern Yankees past the Berlinsville Braves 2-1.

Anthony Gallo was 2-for-4 with a double for the Yankees (14-9), while Northwestern Lehigh product Trevor Schreiner added a double.

Matt Miller was 1-for-2 with a run scored for the Braves (9-14). Former Tiger Jake Augustus finished 1-for-3.

JT Blue-FT Maroon

Jayse Lawrence had three hits and three runs scored to lead Franklin Township Maroon to a 13-5 victory over Jim Thorpe Blue.

Cody Snyder added two hits, while Aiden Solt, Carter Bellis, Cole Dietz and Ryan Kusse all had one hit for Franklin. Cole Dietz pitched two innings, striking out four, while Lawrence earned the win, throwing three innings and recording four strikeouts.

Brody Schrantz, Lee Edwards, Logan O’Connor and Zach Murphy each had one hit for Jim Thorpe.

Towamensing-Weatherly

Weatherly held off Towamensing to pick up a 12-10 victory.

Stephen Barnic had a triple, single and four RBIs for Weatherly, while Chase Grier added a double and a single.

Jason Carrelli had three singles and a double for Towamensing. Cameron Pengelly added a single and a double.
