The Panther Valley Little League Tournament opened on Saturday with games in both the 8-10 and 10-12 year-old divisions.

Towamensing-

FT White

Franklin Township White posted a 7-1 victory over Towamensing.

Michael Gelatko had two hits and two RBI for Franklin Township. Talan Sensinger and Austin Greene both added a hit and two RBIs; Dylan Greene and Noah Barndt both had a hit and a run scored; and Elliott Ahner had a hit and one RBI.

Dylan Greene and Carter Birnbaum split the pitching duties for Franklin Township White. Both went three innings and struck out five.

For Towamensing, Dalton Rumfield had a hit and scored a run.

Franklin Twp.-

Anthracite

Franklin Township breezed to a 21-0 victory over Anthracite.

Cole Dietz, Cody Snyder, and Zach Schrantz combined on the mound for a two-hitter with eight strikeouts for Franklin Townships.

Aiden Solt and Cole Dietz led the Franklin offense with two hits each. Carter Bellis, Jayse Lawrence, Cody Snyder, Konner Nalesnik, Zach Schrantz, and Ryan Kusse all added one hit.

Valley League

Weatherly-CVCO

Despite home runs by Andrew Ray and AJ Knepper, Weatherly dropped a 6-4 decision to CVCO.

Gary Buck added three singles for Weatherly. Fernando Polanco, Zack Moon, Matt Buck and Dave Stratchko also had hits.

Valley East-

Weatherly

Gary Buck delivered a walk-off single to give Weatherly a 2-1 victory over Valley East.

Carl McHugh had a strong game on the mound for Weatherly, striking out nine and allowing just one earned run.

Gary Buck and Bryan Keil had the only hits for Weatherly.
