State police at the Fogelsville barracks said a Neffs man was knocked unconscious in an aggravated assault incident that happened at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday on Weidasville Road in Lowhill Township.

Police said the victim also sustained a laceration to his head after he was struck by a shovel.

The accused is Nelson Perez, 51, of Whitehall. Police said the two men were involved in a verbal argument about landscaping and the incident escalated to the assault after Perez retrieved the shovel and struck the victim in the head.

Perez has been charged with simple and aggravated assault.
