Stroudsburg Arts Festival celebrates fine arts, crafts and music

The Pocono Arts Council will host the Stroudsburg Arts Festival from 2 to 7 p.m. July 7 at Seventh Street and Courthouse Square.

This fun, downtown arts festival has been reworked to replace the former “Art on Main” event that took place in May each year.

Beginning at 2 p.m., visit 30 fine artists and fine craftsmen at their booths where patrons can purchase high quality, handcrafted and original art in a variety of mediums.

This is a great opportunity to speak with the artists in person and get an inside perspective on an artist’s work.

Artists will showcase their talents with live demonstrations in glass blowing, oil painting, acrylics painting, to name a few.

Artistic mediums include acrylic, acrylic fluid pour, airbrush, beekeeping, clay/ceramics, glass, jewelry, mixed media, oil painting, painting on rocks, pen and ink, photography, sculpture and woodworking.

During this rain or shine event, live music and entertainment by popular local musicians and other performers will take place from on a center stage in Courthouse Square.

From 4 to 6 p.m., the Pocono Arts Council will host the artists’ reception and awards ceremony for the Waterscapes Exhibition on display in the ARTSPACE Gallery.

That exhibit runs from July 6 through July 28.

From 6 to 8 p.m., the Origins Gallery at PoconoArts will host the Peep Show Exhibition with musician Doug Keatz performing live, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

In addition, from 6 to 8 p.m., there is a First Saturday ArtWalk happening at eight art galleries in downtown Stroudsburg, each open with exhibitions or special events.
