Bonnie & Clyde Pub announces Lehighton beer festival

Bonnie & Clyde Pub and Grill will hold a beer festival in downtown Lehighton next month, with proceeds going to revitalization efforts in the borough.

The inaugural Outlaw Beer Festival will take place Saturday, July 21 at Bonnie & Clyde, located at 111 N. First St. in Lehighton.

Tickets are $45 in advance and can be purchased through Bonnie & Clyde website and Carbon Chamber & Economic Development website.

Proceeds from the event will go to the chamber and the Lehighton Downtown Initiative to help revitalize downtown Lehighton.

Bonnie & Clyde was opened with the goal of restoring a landmark building, and the community response inspired the business to do more to help revitalize the surrounding commercial area, bar manager Julie Rambo said.

The goal is that the money will help fund facade improvements, sidewalk beautification and streetscape designs.

“With parks, housing, restaurants, retail, and arts all in one place — each downtown becomes a destination to visit with things to see and do. This event creates grass roots coordination, community investment and, most importantly community pride,” Rambo said in a news release.

Admission includes samplings from 10 breweries, Radical wine and Gallow Hill Spirts; a souvenir glass; two bands; and corn hole. There will also be a free activity tent for kids. Ticket holders will have access to a beer garden located on First Street in front of the restaurant.

The park will be open to all ages with vendors, kids activity tent, music and more. The restaurant will also be open for those wishing to dine in.
