The driver of a sport utility vehicle was injured Saturday afternoon when involved in a crash along Route 902 in Summit Hill. The crash occurred at 12:30 p.m. as the vehicle was traveling south just past the intersection with Mountain Top road.

The driver failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway crossing the northbound lanes impacting with a set of guardrails.

The unit came to rest on the lawn of a residence. The victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics then transported to an area trauma center.

The Diligent fire company responded with their fire police maintaining traffic control at the scene. Summit Hill police are investigating the incident.
