Carbon driver facing DUI count

A Carbon County driver is facing charges of driving under the influence following an incident on May 5.

Summit Hill police said officers were dispatched at 7:56 p.m. to the 100 block of East Ridge Street for a hit-and-run to a parked vehicle. While on scene and speaking with the owner of the struck vehicle, a 1998 Subaru Legacy pulled up and parked in the middle of the road sideways. The male complainant identified the driver as the person whose vehicle had struck his vehicle.

The driver was identified as Mary Goodhile, 50, of Summit Hill. She showed signs of impairment and submitted to field sobriety tests, which were stopped for her safety, police said. She was then taken to St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, for a blood draw. The results revealed a BAC higher than .30, police added.

Goodhile has been charged with two counts of DUI and summary offenses of duty to give information or render aid and accidents involving damage to unattended vehicles or property.
