Antiques Appraisal with Harry Rinker in Lehighton

A highly-regarded antiques appraiser will make a one-day appearance as part of the 2018 Lehighton Heritage Weekend.

“Antiques Appraisal with Harry Rinker” will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 7 at the Pfc. Clyde R. Houser Jr. Building/Lehighton Annex.

Sponsored by the Lehighton Borough Parks and Recreation Board and Carol O’Brien, the cost is $10 for one item, $15 for two items, with a limit of two items per person.

Call 610-730-0041 to purchase tickets. Spaces are limited.

Rinker is owner of Harry L. Rinker, LLC, Rinker Consulting, a firm that specializes in providing appraisal, consulting, editorial, educational, media, personal appearance, research and writing services in the antiques and collectibles field.

Guests are welcome to watch the event throughout the day, said Autumn Abelovsky, secretary of the Parks & Recreation Board.

“Every time I talk to people about events to bring excitement to Lehighton, it’s inevitable that someone mentions Harry Rinker, the antiques appraiser,” Abelovsky said. “Knowing that Mr. Rinker is so well-known in the world of antiques, and now partially retired, I never thought we would be able to book him. But after a few emails back and forth, the Parks & Recreation Board was lucky enough to secure him for a one-day antiques appraisal clinic.”

She added, “This is probably the last chance anyone around these parts will have an opportunity to have their heirlooms and treasures appraised by one of the country’s leading experts.”

All proceeds from the event benefit the Lehighton Borough Parks & Recreation Events.

Rinker writes “Rinker on Collectibles,” a weekly syndication that appears in trade papers and daily periodicals from coast to coast and on antiques and collectibles internet websites.

His articles and feature columns have appeared in AntiqueWeek, Collectors News, The Magazine Antiques, Maine Antique Digest and numerous other periodicals and newspapers.

Rinker also hosts “Whatcha Got?,” a nationally syndicated antiques and collectibles radio call-in show, airing Sunday mornings between 8 and 10 a.m.
