Democrats re-elect O’Gurek chairman

The Democratic Party of Carbon County held its reorganizational convention recently at the Hill Top Community Center, Summit Hill, where Billy O’Gurek Jr., of Summit Hill, was re-elected to his third four-year term as the party chairman.

In addition to leading the party’s county-wide activities, O’Gurek will join attorney Carol Walbert on the Pennsylvania Democratic Party State Committee. Other officers are William O’Gurek of Summit Hill, treasurer; Joann Behrens of Penn Forest Township, elected to succeed Judy Moon as the party’s vice chairperson, who retired from the post after eight years; and Patty Vito of Nesquehoning, secretary.
