The Birches and the Berlinsville Braves both posted wins in local baseball action on Tuesday.

NORCO LEGION

Wind Gap-Birches

Jordan Mount tossed a two-hit shutout to lead The Birches to a 2-0 Northampton County Legion victory over Wind Gap.

Mount pitched to contact as he struck out only one and didn’t issue any walks in his seven innings of work.

The winners (3-4) plated single runs in the first and second innings, which were driven in by Dylan Varano and Cameron Lawson.

Easton-Berlinsville

Pete Violante pitched a four-hit shutout to lead the Berlinsville Braves to a 3-0 Blue Mountain League win over the Easton Falcons.

Violante walked three and struck out five as the Braves improved to 5-7.

Jake Augustus (Northwestern grad) delivered a triple, RBI, and run scored for the winners, who jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

Kyle Buchman added a hit and run scored, while Cody Krupa (Northern Lehigh grad) knocked in a run and scored one.
