Blood drive planned in honor of fallen trooper Joshua Miller

The Miller-Keystone Blood Center will hold a blood drive in memory of state trooper Joshua D. Miller. The event will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at 2730 Rimrock Drive, Stroudsburg as a way to honor him on his birthday.

Miller was killed on the job after a 40-mile pursuit that ended in a gunfight on June 7, 2009, in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County. He began his journey with the Pennsylvania State Police in 2002 soon after leaving the U.S. Marine Corps, with the rank of corporal. Miller was first assigned to Troop M, Bethlehem, Northhampton County and was later assigned to Troop N, Swiftwater.
