The Pines to premiere ‘Yankee Doodle Dandy’

The Pines Dinner Theatre, 448 N 17th St., Allentown, will be premiering Yankee Doodle Dandy Friday through July 1.

The all-singing, all-dancing family known as “The Four Cohans” bring the glory of Vaudeville back to the stage in an original musical comedy that explores both the life and career of the legendary George M. Cohan. Featuring Cohan’s most famous hits, from “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” to “Give My Regards to Broadway” and of course “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” this tuneful show will leave you cheering for more.

“Yankee Doodle Dandy” showcases the talents of Dom Giovanni as George Cohan, Monica Handwerk as Nellie Cohan, Daniel Pippert as Jerry Cohan and Hannah Michael as Josie Cohan.

Featuring over 20 of Cohan’s most famous and lesser-known works, the show’s creative team researched both his music and life to create a brand-new show that follows his career though the lens of a traditional Vaudeville show. From Cohan’s beginnings as a child actor, to his fame on Broadway, and even his descent into obscurity.

The show is written by Oliver Blatt, with musical arrangements and orchestrations by Stacy Bechtel, and music and lyrics by George M. Cohan.

In honor of Memorial Day and Independence Day, all members of the military (both past and present) will receive free dinner and show with military ID, for all performances taking place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and June 27, 28 and 29.

Evening performances, 6:30 p.m. dinner, 8 p.m. show, are Friday and Saturday; afternoon performances 12:30 p.m. dinner, 2 p.m. show, are Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Ticket prices include dinner, show, ticket fees and tax. Beverages and gratuity are not included.
