The Diocese of Allentown has announced priest assignments for the region.

The assignments are effective on June 19.

• The Rev. Francis J. Baransky — from pastor, Saint Joseph Parish, Jim Thorpe, to pastor, Saint Richard Parish, Barnesville.

• The Rev. Allen J. Hoffa — from administrator, Saint Joseph Parish, Summit Hill, to pastor, Saint Joseph Parish, Summit Hill.

• The Rev. Brian M. Miller — from administrator, Saint Mary Parish, Ringtown; administrator, Saint Joseph Parish, Sheppton; and chaplain, Marian High School, Tamaqua, to pastor, Saint Joseph Parish, Frackville; and remaining chaplain, Marian High School, Tamaqua.

• The Rev. James J. Ward — pastor, Immaculate Conception Parish, Jim Thorpe, also to pastor, Saint Joseph Parish, Jim Thorpe.

• The Rev. Joseph T. Whalen — from pastor, Saint Richard Parish, Barnesville, to pastor emeritus, Saint Richard Parish, Barnesville.
