Mahoning Lions host rabies clinic

The Mahoning Township Lions Club will hold its 30th annual rabies shot clinic from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at McCall’s Farm on Route 443 in Lehighton, beside 84 Lumber.

The first clinic was held back in 1989 when Robert Hayman, Lions president at the time, worked with Dr. Mary Lombardo of Mahoning Valley Animal Hospital to initiate it.

Dr. Mary has retired and relocated and Dr. Mike Nelson has stepped in.

The cost is only $10 per vaccine and each pet receives a treat.

Hot dogs and drinks will be available and proceeds will benefit the Carbon County Animal Shelter and Carbon County Friends of Animals.
