Local Track Roundup: Meets from May 1

The Northwestern girls posted a sweep of Palmerton and Wilson in a Colonial League tri-meet Tuesday.

Meanwhile, both Northern Lehigh teams and the Palmerton boys earned splits.

Salisbury-No. Lehigh-

Southern Lehigh

Southern Lehigh captured the boys’ and girls’ Colonial League dual meet championships with a sweep of Salisbury and Northern Lehigh.

The Spartans cruised to a 115-34 victory over the Bulldogs in the boys’ meet, while Northern Lehigh edged Salisbury 72-71. Josh Fritchman (shot put) and Trevor Hoffman (javelin) were individual event winners for the Bulldogs.

In the girls’ meet, Southern Lehigh downed Northern Lehigh 98-48. The Bulldogs handled the Falcons 96-46.

Jill Olewine (long jump, triple jump) had a big afternoon for Northern Lehigh, while Reagan Pender also placed first in the 1600.

Wilson-Palmerton

The Northwestern girls breezed to wins over Palmerton and Wilson in a Colonial League meet.

Jordan Lowthert had victories in the long jump and triple jump for the Tigers, who dispatched the Bombers 101.5-48.5 and took down the Warriors 99-51. Chloe Oldt won the high jump, clearing a personal best 5-1 for Palmerton, which also fell to Wilson 85.5-64.5.

The Warriors breezed to wins over the Bombers (89-61) and Tigers (106-43) on the boys’ side. Aaron Stasko (100, 200) and Jacob Martinez (800, 1600) paced Palmerton, which defeated Northwestern 83-67. Phillip Castrine (3200) and Jason Garcia (shot put) picked up wins for the Tigers.
