The Woman’s Club of Slatington announced that Northern Lehigh High School senior Zainab Salih of Slatington has been chosen as their Girl of the Month for March.

Zainab is the daughter of Malika Sadouq and lives in Slatington. She has four younger half-siblings, sisters Koutar and Aicha, and brothers Zaid and Hamza.

Her activities include being president of the Students Against Destructive Decisions Club, vice president of the science club and historian for the National Honor Society. In addition, she is also part of the Health Occupations Students of America, Leo Lions Club and the Emerging Health Program.

She has been named to the principal’s list and honored as a student of the month.

Zainab enjoys running and reading historical fiction books.

In the future, she plans on attending Temple University on a pre-medicine track. After college, she hopes to join the Peace Corps and volunteer in Africa. After returning to the United States, she plans on going to medical school to become a doctor.
