April 20, 1955 — Charlie Steigerwalt pitches a one-hitter to lead Lehighton to a 4-2 victory over Polk Township. In his seven innings of work, Steigerwalt doesn’t walk a batter and finishes with six strikeouts. The Indians, coached by Dallas “Tex” Heffner receive a big offensive day from Carl Koons, who collects three hits and scores a pair of runs. Ron Moyer also contributes two hits, one a double, while Miller ends with a hit and run scored.
