Rig driver possibly overdoses while driving in Nesquehoning

Nesquehoning emergency crews were on scene to assist a tractor-trailer that got stuck on a borough street on Tuesday morning.

But when they arrived, they found the driver had possibly overdosed and was unresponsive.

The incident happened after 9 a.m. on the 200 block of West Railroad Street in Nesquehoning.

According to reports, the driver was traveling east on the road when he overdosed, causing the rig come to rest across the street and damage a resident’s property.

Nesquehoning police, as well as crews from New Columbus and Hauto fire companies assisted Lehighton Ambulance with the scene.

No word on the driver’s condition has been released at this time.
