Northwestern picked up a baseball win over Palmerton on Wednesday.

BASEBALL

Northwestern-Palmerton

Northwestern topped Palmerton 5-1 in Colonial League action.

Jake Haas was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored for the Tigers. Mason Vogwill was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Tyler Roe, Ben Serfass, Devyn Rehrig and Brody Boehler collected hits for the Blue Bombers.

Pleasant Valley dropped an Eastern Pennsylvania Conference game against Pocono Mountain East, 7-5.

Southern Lehigh cruised to a 20-5 Colonial League rout of Northern Lehigh.

Southern Lehigh leadoff hitter Chris Andrews paced his team with four hits, five runs, and three RBIs. Niko Amory added three hits, three runs, and four RBIs.

Luke Eitner had two hits and a run for Northern Lehigh. Brandon Hess drove in a run and reached base twice, while Mason Seiler had an RBI.

Blue Mountain-Tamaqua

Blue Mountain rallied past Tamaqua for a 6-4 Schuylkill League Division 1 win.

Jack McKivigan (2-for-3) had a solo homer in the top of the sixth inning for the Eagles (4-2).

Thad Zuber was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Blue Raiders (2-2), who led 3-1 after the first inning. Cody Hamm also had two hits.

Northern Lehigh earned a 4-1 Colonial League win over Southern Lehigh.

Shyanna William led Northern Lehigh with two hits and two RBIs, while Lauren Hoffman and Olivia Toth both added a pair of hits.

Winning pitcher Kaitlin Hoffman yielded only three hits to the Spartans, two of them by Cydney Stine.

Tamaqua fended off Blue Mountain for a 3-1 Schuylkill League victory.

Brooke Zellner had two hits and two RBIs for the Raiders, while Jada Schellhammer added two hits and an RBI.

Schellhammer was also impressive on the mound as she scattered three hits, walked none, and struck out six en route to a win.

Pleasant Valley-PM East

Pleasant Valley collected five runs in the seventh inning en route to a 9-4 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over Pocono Mountain East.

Skyler Jennings pitched a complete game and had six strikeouts to get the pitching win.

Madison Rosenberg had two hits for the Bears. Taylor Steckel, Meara Hanyon, Tyler Woltal, and Rosenberg all smashed doubles.

BOYS TENNIS

Lehighton-Notre Dame ES

Notre Dame swept Lehighton in a non-league doubleheader, 4-1, 4-1.

Mark Solt earned both of Lehighton’s victories in No. 2 singles.
