$350M entertainment center, aquarium coming to Tobyhanna Township

A $350 million entertainment destination village is coming to the corner of Routes 380 and 940 in Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County.

Wednesday afternoon Tobyhanna Township Manager, John J. Jablowski Jr. hosted a news conference with Senator Mario Scavello and Alberta Development Group Principal, Bryan McFarland.

McFarland described the 175 acre project as an “Entertainment Destination Village” that will include an aquarium, a theater, interactive water features, pavilion, park and bike/walking trail.

The project will include well known retail merchants as well.

“I have thought for years that the Poconos needed something like this,” said Monroe County Commissioner, John Moyer. “Someplace where people can go when they are done doing what they came here for. Now they will have someplace to visit after they ski or canoe or hike.”
