State police at Lehighton — crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported on the following crashes:

• Two vehicles sustained nondisabling damages in an incident at 5:04 p.m. March 26 on Route 248 in Lower Towamensing Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said the incident happened about one-half mile before the Palmerton exit when the driver of a 2016 Dodge Ram truck, traveling west in the right lane of traffic, attempted to steer into the left lane and struck a 2015 Jeep Wrangler.

No injuries occurred. Police did not reveal the names of the drivers.

• A 1997 Honda Accord sustained heavy damages and had to be towed from the scene of a one-vehicle crash at 5:22 p.m. March 21 on Interchange Road in Polk Township.

Christina M. Balog, 21, of Sciota, was driving the vehicle northbound on the snow-covered highway and was descending a hill when the vehicle slid out of control. It traveled off the roadway and struck a utility pole on the north shoulder. Balog was not injured.

• Ernest J. Schubert, 60, of Gilbert, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 3:55 p.m. March 21 on the Little Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township.

Police said he was eastbound in the 5000 block on the road in a 2003 Jeep Liberty. Police said due to weather conditions, the vehicle left the south side of the road, traveled down an embankment and struck a utility pole.

Schubert was not injured.

• Cihan Ozturk, 39, of Saylorsburg, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 12:50 p.m. March 21 on Kunkletown Road, Township Route 3004, in Ross Township. She was not injured.

Police said she was driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla at a speed too fast for conditions when she lost control of the car. It left the roadway, struck a utility pole and came to rest on the shoulder of the roadway on its roof.

The vehicle needed to be towed.
