Eldred Thrift Store holding prom dress sale

The Eldred Township Community Center Thrift Store is holding a prom dress sale.

“We know not everybody can afford to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a prom dress and accessories,” store volunteer Donna Deihl said. “We have several hundred donated prom dresses, some new but most gently used, for $10 each.”

The sale will be held this Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the community center, which is located in the old Eldred Township Elementary School on Kunkletown Road.

Deihl said that there are also a limited number of shoes, clutch purses and jewelry available as well.

“This is the first time we are doing this and we are very excited,” she said. “If this is a success we would like to do it again in the future.”

Deihl said that the group is taking gown donations through Saturday whenever the thrift store is open.

The store is generally closed if the school district is closed for inclement weather.
