A touch of spring

Daffodil season is back. On Wednesday, volunteers including Lisa Hiles gathered at Hiles Bros. Plumbing and Heating in Summit Hill on Tuesday to wrap 1,200 bunches of the flowers, as well as 600 potted arrangements. The Daffodil Day Sales benefit the annual American Cancer Society Telethon. The flowers will be picked up over the next two days by customers who placed orders starting in early February. If you wanted to order daffodils but forgot, volunteers will be selling them Thursday and Saturday at Redner’s Warehouse Markets in Nesquehoning. Sales will take place from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. If you are interested in selling daffodils in 2019, contact Hiles at 570-645-8405. CHRIS REBER/TIMES NEWS
