Snow showers this afternoon, more on the way?

Snow showers and a few locally heavier squalls will be possible this afternoon into this evening and could bring a quick one to three

inches of snow with the highest accumulations in the southern Poconos.

A coastal storm may affect the area Tuesday and Tuesday night, however the details and therefore any impacts are uncertain at this time.

The latest forecast:

Today: A chance of rain and snow showers after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 41. West wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tonight: A chance of snow showers, mainly before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Northwest wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Friday: A slight chance of rain and snow showers after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 35. Breezy, with a northwest wind 14 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 21. Northwest wind 7 to 13 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 41. Northwest wind around 8 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 21.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 42.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 23.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44.

Monday Night: A chance of rain and snow before 11pm, then a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Tuesday: A chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a high near 37. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Tuesday Night: A chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Wednesday: A chance of rain and snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 41. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
