A look back: March 13, 1984

The Lehighton School Board members saluted two district teachers for their outstanding work in advisory roles with student groups.

The board cited the work of Charles Schultes with high school students in the “Olympics of the Mind.” The group recently distinguished itself by winning the Pennsylvania Regional competition in Hughesville, advancing to the state tournament to be held at Edinboro State College.

The board also recognized the dedication of Patricia Luni, who is the adviser for the school’s Scholastic Scrimmage, a team of outstanding students who have done well in televised competition against other schools.
