The E Z Market (McMarkets Inc.) in West Penn Township plans to apply for a restaurant liquor license.

Board solicitor Paul J. Datte informed the township’s board of supervisors earlier this week that the request will be on next month’s meeting agenda.

Datte said the hearing would be both for the transfer of the license and change of location, as it would be coming from the former Rancho Grande Mexican Restaurant and Cantina in Branch Township.

Supervisor Tim Houser questioned if there were any parameters on how many liquor licenses can be in a given area, and expressed concerns with trash, such as beer cans and soda bottles, being scattered along the roadway.
