State police at Frackville reported investigating a one-vehicle crash at 7:28 p.m. on Monday along Interstate 81 in West Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said a 17-year-old boy from Drums, Luzerne County, was driving a 2011 Hyundai Tucson southbound when he failed to negotiate a right curve in the exit ramp at Frackville. He subsequently drove off the road into a grassy median area. The Tucson then began to spin and the teen attempted to steer the vehicle back onto the road. The Tucson then struck a concrete barrier with the front end and went airborne.

The Tucson came down on the opposite side of the ramp from Route 61, then rolled onto its roof and came to rest on its roof facing south.

The teen was able to crawl out of the vehicle and was uninjured. He was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle had to be towed.

The teen was cited for the crash.
