Winter storm watch Friday, 4-7 inches of snow possible

A winter storm watch remains in effect for Friday morning through Friday night.

Heavy wet snow is possible, with total wet snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches, with locally higher amounts in the highest elevations.

Precipitation will transition to snow by daybreak Friday and continue through Friday evening.

Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the evening commute on Friday. Strong winds are possible as the snow falls, producing localized whiteout conditions. Tree branches could fall from the combination of wind and snow.

Tonight: Rain. Low around 38. East wind around 8 mph becoming northeast after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Friday: Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 1pm. High near 39. Windy, with a northwest wind 9 to 14 mph increasing to 21 to 26 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Friday Night: A chance of snow showers, mainly before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 32. Windy, with a north wind 22 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
