Burglary, thefts under police investigation

A burglary and two thefts are being investigated by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

The burglary was reported on Feb. 5 on Little Gap Road, Lower Towamensing Township.

The victim is a 37-year-old Palmerton man who reported someone stole a generator from inside his garage. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.

The first theft happened between 4:30-6:30 p.m. Feb. 14 on White Street in Weissport.

The victim is a 59-year-old man from Weissport who reported that someone removed two prescription medication pill containers from inside his residence.

The second theft happened when someone stole a surveillance camera from a property on Mahoning Mountain Road, East Penn Township.

The incident was reported at 4:28 a.m. Sunday by a 23-year-old woman from Lehighton, who said the suspect, a 33-year-old Ringtown man, took a Night Owl 1.0 camera that was located under the gutter of the residence on the north side of the porch. The suspect also struck a second camera with an unknown object, damaging it and rendering it inoperable. The second camera was located in the front of the residence, under the gutter at the west side of the garage. Police said the suspect ran off.
