Concourse Club

Palmerton Concourse Club will meet at 7 p.m. March 1 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fireline Road. The program will be “AARP.” Ray Landis, Advocacy Manager for AARP Pennsylvania will give an informative program on how AARP can advocate and help its members. This is an open meeting.

Members are reminded to bring your cookies for nursing home residents.

Jerusalem UCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville), will hold worship services at 9 and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. A special congregational meeting will be held at 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary. The meeting is called to vote on proposed church building changes. Please plan to attend.

Easter filling sale

Jerusalem United Church of Christ in Trachsville is taking orders for Easter filling from Sunday through March 11. Pick up at the church March 18 or 25 after worship service between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. To order, call 610-377-4936 or contact the church office at 610-681-4412.

Lenten services

Five area churches, including Jerusalem Lutheran, Jerusalem UCC, St. Matthews UCC, Salem-St. Paul Lutheran, and Salem UCC join together each Wednesday evening during Lent for joint fellowship. On Feb. 28, the host church will be Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville. The theme will be “God Will and My Dreams.” The preacher will be Suzanne Brooks-Cope. A simple soup dinner will be from 6 to 6:45 p.m. and worship will follow at 7 p.m. Choir rehearsal will be at 6:30 p.m.

First UCC

In addition to hosting Lenten Lunches at noon on Wednesdays during the season of Lent, church members are invited to attend midweek Lenten services at St. Paul’s on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.

Basket social

A basket social will be held in the gymnasium of St. John Neumann Regional School, 259 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. The 21st annual event will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, with the drawing at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The kitchen will be open with homemade food and refreshments.
