State police at Frackville reported investigating a crash along Interstate 81 in Foster Township, Schuylkill County, at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Troopers said Vincent Dicolla, 54, of Albrightsville, was operating a 2013 Kenworth truck-tractor with trailer and Robert Zimpfer III, 30, of Hellertown, Northampton County, was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup, both southbound. Dicolla was in the right lane and Zimpfer in the left lane.

As Zimpfer was passing Dicolla, the tractor-trailer entered the left lane and hit the rear of the pickup, causing Zimpfer to lose control. The Dodge went onto the right berm and hit several trees before coming to rest.

The rig continued south after impact, traveled into the median area and hit an embankment, various trees and overturned onto its passenger side, where it came to rest.

No one was injured but both vehicles had to be towed. The area was reduced to one-lane for about three hours until the wreckage could be cleared.
